This is actually a very serious crime in the heart of downtown. This is not normal and absolutely merits a post. Crime is down in the city overall and I am not here for fear mongering, but as someone who spends a lot of time downtown, I like to be informed about what's going on there.

I don’t understand this point. Reddit is a large news source, this was posted on the correct subreddit, and it’s important information. Not to mention this subreddit isn’t very lively. This isn’t fear mongering or a petty crime. I was glad to see this article posted because I am often in that area at night.

I looked for that, too. I have a feeling it was that bar brawl where someone fired a gun. Says it was after midnight, which fits roughly with when a gajillion police went by, and the direction is right, too.

Like, I could see myself sit at a bar, look at my phone, and say "hm, someone got stabbed downtown (or wherever this is)" but I really don't get what else there would be to say.
The fact that this is just an alt for Material-Fabulous doing the same shit everyone hated, but without using GoLocalProv is also part of why I'm bringing this up

Your last post on RI sub is essentially a shit post. I don’t get why a real crime, with a real report, is considered unnecessary but your post is deemed worthy. I would totally bring this up with people because we spend time and work in the area.

I've made like 2, maybe 3 total posts in 2+ years......I'm not sure how that's comparable to a previously banned account post every single crime story that happens in the city even when there's little no discussion value.

I am not up to date on subreddit characters and lore but I see this is his only post. I get why certain crime posts could be considered spam, but this is a serious crime in the heart of downtown. I don’t think there’s any logical reason for it not to belong here.

Oh, he deletes them after a day or two. There’s been 3-7 posts a week in here and RI sub every week for months. Almost always low engagement.
