Why is the nightlife / club scene SO big in providence lmao. I moved from a much larger city recently and (this could 1000000% just be my friend group) but we went to upscale bars and nicer sit down places, I’ve never been to a club or heard of a club getting a “good rep” I’m genuinely so curious lol PVD folks just love their clubbing. Like I can’t name a club from my previous city that regular folks frequented I’m not like an uppity person at all we just never went to clubs. There’s the college basement parties then like the casual brewery during the day when you’re older lmao

HAHAHA WHY IS EVERYONE HERE SO MISERABLE AND CLUELESS

It's not.... Or maybe it is just for the people you've been around, which doesn't account for the whole city

There isn't. Last time I went to a proper dance club here was a decade ago and I am fairly certain that was gentrified into Plant City. There wasn't a huge scene back then and there seems to be less of one now (from what I hear).

We are a de facto red light district for Boston. Boston nightlife is awful. We have strip clubs, swingers bars, bathhouses and porn stores.

This isn't even close to being true. I'm genuinely curious what gave you this impression.

I'd love to know the much larger city you moved here from so we know what you are comparing to.

Compared to what?

Please tell us where - so we'll know not to go there -

According to Google, it was the Loft. All I remember is that it had the coat check, DJ, dancing, and Bottle service you'd expect to actually see. Only time I've ever seen anything resembling that kind of set up in Providence, but it looks like there was some kind of issue with the city and they shut it down (only time I ever hear clubs mentioned here is when the city is trying to pull a license).

I think that the city probably finds the lack of clubs a feature and not a bug. There are rarely more than a handful of bars which close late and are located near each other and even rarer that those bars all offer dancing. My hometown (different state) had a club district exclusively made of bars and it was always a huge mess to dump 100s of drunk people out on the same street at 2am.
