Hi everyone!

Do you know of any good language schools in Providence? I’m interested in learning Korean and/or ASL, and I’m looking for an affordable place to learn.

I do like the classroom environment, and would prefer it over private tutoring. However, I don’t want to take it at a nearby university or college for credits. I’m interested in learning just for personal development/fun.

Thank you in advance for any response!

(Happy New Year also!🥳😊)

I would suggest contacting the RI School for the Deaf in Providence to ask them about classes. I'm sure they can give you the information on resources available.

As far as Korean, sorry but I don't have any ideas.

You could probably take an ASL class online.

Providence public library offers cheap language classes & will probably have at least suggestions for ASL but I don't know if they have Korean

I took some beginning ASL classes w the American Sign Language Academy … they were in Pawtucket but I think may be in Cranston now.

You're not likely to find Korean anywhere in person locally. Boston Area Spanish Exchange (BASE, also teaches more than Spanish) has Korean private lessons if you really want in person. If I were you though I'd probably look at www.italki.com. I've taken private language lessons there and had good experiences.
