Moving to RI soon (between March & April) anyone know of any apartments for rent?

Would prefer 2 or more bedrooms (1 bedroom could work as long as it is over 800sqft.) Dog friendly (we have a Dachshund mix approximately 20 lbs) Preferably around $1,400 or less a month but could go up to $1,800 if all utilities are included. In unit laundry Dishwasher Within 10-15 miles of Providence (this includes surrounding areas, Cranston, Warrick, Pawtucket, Warren, ect.) If you know of any places that are available and meet this criteria please let us know, thanks so much!

EDIT: Thanks to everyone who has replied so far, we have already found a couple of apartments that fit our criteria and have checked Zillow, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, apartments.com, and other sites. The above is our preferred criteria but concessions can be made. I was more or less just attempting to see what all of our options were and if anyone knew something that was going to be coming open for availability that may not be listed yet. We can also afford more just would like to stick within a certain budget until we actually move there and have time to find something while we are currently living there there or to eventually buy a house.

Last stat on it I've seen is that for the state, we're at 2% available housing? Anyone know if that's still the case?

OP, just so you are prepared: it's never been this hard to find housing in RI.

OP needs to be prepared. Even if there were apartments for rent on every corner, $1400-1800 gets you a barely livable space.

And reading here, I've learned how much harder it's become to find an apt that allows dogs, even small ones.

When I first moved here from MA years ago I was pleasantly surprised by how much easier it was here to rent with a dog than MA had been.

No more.

Why should a landlord allow pets when the market's this insanely tight that they have their pick of tenants? 😣

At the risk of sounding like a landlord bootlicker....everyone thinks they're good pet owners but many people are awful pet owners and allow the dogs to do whatever they want and that can cause a ton of damage to a place, nevermind contstantly fielding calls from other tenants for barking or loud clacking or whatever because the other tenants get annoyed and it's simply not worth it. As you said, availability is super low so you also have your pick of tenants that don't have pets.

My landlord just evicted a tenant after living in the apartment for 3 months cause other tenants were complaining about the dog. The guy had permission and everything before moving in.

I've actually never toured a dog friendly apartment since moving here a decade ago (and I didn't exclude them). I was always looking for older homes, local landlords and the best ones overwhelmingly drew a line at dogs.

And ya. I moved here and in one afternoon had an apartment lined up (after viewing 3 great ones and having our pick). Now, you're lucky to simply get an email back.

You will mostly likely not find a 2 bed with in-unit laundry and dishwasher with that budget. Probably not even a one bed. Rents are extremely high in Providence right now and what’s available is really limited.

As some others said, that is asking a lot for the price in the Providence area. You might not be able to check all those boxes without exceeding your price range.

I am moving out of my apartment (bought a house), and this apartment is $1,800. Just to give you an idea: It is 3 floors if you count the loft area, 2 full bedrooms and 1 room that is more like an office. In unit laundry but no dishwasher and does not include utilities. Is about 5 min outside of PVD and is dog friendly.

Sounds like maybe village lofts in Pawtucket might be up your alley?

Check out Zillow and other listing sites. You may need to increase your budget by about $200-$400 to find anything like what you're looking for around Providence

You will definitely find something on apartment.com

EDIT: You will find something between $1400-1800.

OP, keep in mind that just because something is in your parameters online, that it doesn't mean it's likely to get it. I'd look at things like how many people have contacted the realtor via the posting or if it's an "open house" (when like 30+ people might as well get a raffle ticket). Sorting by new helps you be first in line on the ideal apartments. It's very similar to how seeing a house listing and having an offer accepted on a house are very different parts of a home buying process. And yes, this is true even if income and credit ratios are good because the application just isn't going anywhere if several good candidates are ahead of you.

Dog friendly skews heavily on the side if new builds, though some house rentals are more friendly. I don't see a ton of dog friendly multifamilies, but that's just my experience over moving several times. My friend is moving into a dog friendly, in unit w/d new build and the going rate is 2k/studio. I've shared basement laundry with buildings of 5-10 people and it's hardly an inconvenience.

Having a dog here is unfortunately hard mode in an already extremely hard process. Good luck.
