I use the Walmart+ delivery service since totaling my car and it’s been great. Recently I haven’t been able to order any fresh produce or non frozen meat. I look at the Johnston location and same thing.
I’m curious if it’s an in app issue or these stores are legit sold out of everything fresh. Thanks y’all.
Every time I’ve gone there they’ve had massive lines and 3 or 4 unfortunate clerks trying to keep up. They are so short staffed, it’s worth driving somewhere else—it’s faster to add half an hour to the driving time!
Yeah they have like 2 cashiers and they want everyone else using self checkout. I plan my trips to go to north Attleboro when I need actual food. Like you said, worth the drive

That place is a mess. You'd probably have more luck in Seekonk or South Attleboro
I honestly don't think I've ever seen fresh produce at that walmart for the 8 years I lived over there. It's fairly limited on the fresh food as is so it wouldn't be shocking they sold out. Unless you mean raw meat, in which case that one also doesn't carry that outside of frozen products.

Oh story time! So in June I moved here from down south, I needed to stock up on groceries and didn't know what was good in the area, so I went up to the Spring Street Walmart.
Now I've had a Walmart in my town for nearly all my life, I'm used to getting groceries from there all the time. I don't think I'd ever been in a Walmart that wasn't a Supercenter except literally one trip to the Walmart Neighborhood store in my aunt's town. Walmart always had fresh food, that's just how it was.
So I walk up and down the aisles of the spring street Walmart looking for their produce. It's so weird, there's just a bunch of rows of canned and frozen food in between the toys and the clothes. So I flagged down an employee and ask him where the fresh food is.
"Oh you mean the frozen food? It's over on aisle 32."
"yeah but I'm looking for like fresh fruit and meat and stuff."
"...Do you mean raw food?"
And each of us is looking at the other like they're a goddam alien. I cannot process the idea that Walmart doesn't have raw food, and this dude cannot process that someone would ask for that.
Anyway his coworker overheard and said told me they don't have fresh food, but they should have some at Shaws. So yeah they don't have it there.
omg just moved from tx this summer, and same! i went to Walmart hoping they’d have more mexican food than other places but… nope. i was so shocked! i walked around the store for like 20 mins trying to find the rest of the food….
The Walmart on Silver Spring is a social experiment disguised as a retail center. I remember all the fights and almost fights for not having a basic divider at the self checkout line, you also notice it doesn't even look like the other Walmart's excluding the Supercenters. Now they have the dumbest things like men's boxers/briefs locked up. If you have to go there best go in the early morning or towards closing. If not go to the ones far away from Providence and both Cranston locations. Warwick gets overflow as well.
I always tell people I know from other countries, if you really want to see America go to a Walmart.
You could try Shaw's delivery. It's pretty low per month and probably better selection. Or potentially the What's Good app for local produce delivery, although the meat on there is a little pricey.
They aren't allowed to have certain groceries because of their proximity to stop and shop.
Order delivery from Whole Foods through Amazon Prime.
I call this Walmart the Post-Apocalyptic one. It’s just ..bad.
You can pick your store for delivery, put in the Cranston or Johnston locations and the fresh food will be available.
There's a lot of poverty in Providence. It's no secret that people with limited cash love Walmart prices and variety, AND often have a lot more drama in their lives than more economically stable people, as a result of persistent poverty. Not gonna lie, this lends itself to great reality TV episodes there. Especially at the beginning of the month when shoppers are flush with benefit payouts.
The one thing you won't find there is fresh produce and food.

This walmart isnt one of the super stores so they really dont carry much food that isnt a box or premade meal/cereal/snacks type thing. this is the closest walmart to me. I hate it.
