Hey folks. I'm wondering if anyone was planning on using this new station when it opens on the 23rd ?

Apparently it will feature FREE parking but only 200 spaces. Concidering that Providence charges nearly 20 to park I'm expecting it will be impossible to park after 9am.

200 spaces? I’d be surprised if they’re not full by 7 - 7:30.

Some free is better than no free.

200 is "Only?"

Yeah, for comparison Attleboro has ~700

You can have a densely populated neighborhood where it's a nice walk to the train station past convenient shops and stuff or you can have a parking crater surrounded by multilane traffic but you can't have both.

Attleboro has more like 300. The Verizon lot and beyond are all commercial properties.

Also it's designed to serve the pawtucket/centrallfalls/Blackstone valley communities which is small. They're also making it a ripta hub so you should see some better bus routes in the area providing easier/better access. I'm sure they did some surveying and determined that they didn't need to provide much parking.

Is there anywhere to park and lock bikes?

I drive by there often and have watched the building development. I think I've seen bike parking.

Yes! It will be very useful. I've watched the development over the past few months. It feels as if it was built overnight lmao. As a person who can't drive, (I get rides from family members) the train station is a very good thing. Also I expect the traffic near the station to be quite chaotic, if all the other train stations I've been to are anything to go by.

There's plenty of parking around the station. I've been living at he nearby lofts and there's an abundance of parking in the area. It's exciting to see what and how the station will run.

When will South Attleboro be open again? I suspect that will help with Pawtucket not being as busy. Also Warwick is only $5 to park.

When they finally fix the crossover. MBTA/Keolis are slow to fix anything

See the JFK/UMass station for example (or the orange line debacle)

Years. Soon after they closed it, they had a design proposal prepared that was actually pretty nice: high level platforms for the entire station, a place to be covered from the elements, accessibility improvements, better access for busses, etc. As far as I know, nothing has made it beyond the design process.

I cynically believe they're just waiting for the right blend of ice, wind, and rust to finally collapse the existing structure so they can get an excuse to haul it all away.

Parking at Providence is ridiculous. TF Green is 5 bucks for the day.

The apartment complex across the street will not be allowing commuters to use their parking lot. So once the train lot is full to bad
