I lived in American Wire from 2014-2016. All in all it was a good place to live, we loved the exposed brick and wood floors. We never really used the lounge areas or gym but would occasionally see people having small get togethers in there. My biggest complaint was that the walls are pretty thin! We heard a little bit of everything from time to time but that all depends on who your neighbors are.

I live at Grant Mill and love it here. Relatively quiet area. Can’t really hear much through the walls, ceiling or floors. The management and maintenance are great. $3k is more than enough for a 2 & 2. They had a nice 3rd floor corner unit with lots of windows and a view of downtown come available last month, not sure if it’s spoken for yet.

I lived in US Rubber Lofts when it first opened, 2016-2018. The first year was good since only half the building was open and there was a lot more parking. Our neighbor was a single guy in his 30s who sailed every weekend. The second year was much worse since we had an awful neighbor who loved to play old town road on repeat all day and night, and the walls are really thin. The constitution looked nice, but was really cheap.

The apartment was beautiful and I liked that we had a washer dryer in-unit. I found the other tenets to be more college aged (we were late 20s) so they were rowdier and left the common spaces a mess on a Friday or Saturday. The gym didn’t justify the higher rents and we never used the other amenities. I disliked the parking situation, I often had to park really far from my apartment, which made groceries a pain. There was also a string of tire thefts at that time.

2018-2021 we lived in a triple decker on the east side. It was almost half the price and much nicer. We found that through a friend.

The lofts tend to have noise issues (very neighbor dependent) which isn’t unlike other apartments per se. Sometimes these can be very grad/med student heavy so definitely visit.

When I looked at them they were just massive complexes. American wire is the new name for the ones across 95 downtown right? Literally took 5 minutes to walk from entrance to the apt I looked at.

They are nice looking! There are probably some smaller buildings that have availability downtown (I’ve seen apts listed above the old Knead downtown location for example).

Try lofts at the Pocasset- owned by Brady Sullivan too. Do not go to regency (so dated and over priced )

Halstead is nice- we almost moved there but chose Centerplace instead.

Emblem 125 is new, I love it here and it’s under 3k

In my experience the walls being thin isn't so much a problem in the summer while everyones ACs are on but in the winter I feel like I hear too much of my neighbors and I'm sure vice versa other than that I don't have that many complaints

They have serious noise problem. Thin floor and wall. You can hear every foot step of your higher level. Music and conversation from next door and street. Loud club music nearby bar every Friday night. It feels like i’m living in a college dorm paying $2.5k. I think you have good experience because the building is only occupied less than 50% so far.

Also I guess it depends who you have as next door and sharing the floor.. aside from that it’s a nice building but noise issue is a deal breaker for me. I can’t wait to move out from this building.

Lived in Regency for a year. Good place if you’re willing to shell out the money. Place was generally quiet (I was on the highway side), secure, and property management was pretty quick to respond to things.

Biggest downside was the cost. $1800 for a one bed, parking and utilities. Some units were definitely dated so you’d want to see which exact one you’d be living in. Price was supposed to include the amenities (gym, pool, movie theater, tennis court) which might make the cost worth it, but I found myself rarely using any of them.

That's just what people did in 2017. Can't fault this person at all. They were a product of the times.

Yep, that place is built like a hotel. Some apartments even have shared balconies so no privacy at all. You couldn't pay me to live there.
