Do you feel the city has over reached on minor code violations.? Did you know home inspection are only triggered by neighbors' complaint to the city with without evidence?

Did you know the city "can" (in their estimation) access your property for routine, non emergency inspection without your knowledge, notice or permission?

Have you complained multiple regarding downed wires or other safety issues to either no response or "not my problem?"

Are you faced with ANY chronic issues the city either refuses to address to keep you and your neighbors?

In efforts to quell frivolous complaints, do you agree that a complainant must also, then be subject to inspection as well, therefore limiting the likelihood the complaints and codes be weaponized?

I'm interested in your thoughts, stories and experiences. Are my experiences unique?

Let me know

For Providence? I think so. In fact, I'd say there's a fuckton of underenforcement vs overenforcement

I’ve submitted a few requests and had them responded to within 24 hours personally. I think it’s very much worth trying. OP doesn’t indicate who they “complained” to either, so my guess is they’re complaining to the wrong person or department.

I've submitted around 8 so far within the last 12 months. 1 resolved, the other 7 have been sitting there for months without a comment except for the generic one they usually post.

I agree Providence and Rhode Island don't make it easy to figure out who to report these hazards to.

Good for you. And whether you have LEGAL tags or not, I'm sure YOU don't want strangers going into your yard (including while you are home) without your prior knowledge, without knocking, on your door and IDENTIFYING themsselves. That's how people end up getting accidentally shot BRUH.

sounds like a homeowner complaining about home-ownership.

everything youre describing is exactly what renters deal with with their landlords.

Essentially, pvd is the landlord to your property, which, i mean, is fair? imho
