Hello there,

I am celebrating my first St. Patricks Day since moving here and looking to the experts for guidance. I am planning a bar crawl for friends and have a few spots in mind, but I would love to know some more.

I know it may be a little early for places to be posting their plans for the day but would love any info you can provide.

Cheers.

Not sure if you’re looking specifically for providence but Newport seems to go pretty hard for St. Patrick’s Day. Ie: there is generally a parade, very walkable bar crawls down Thames, and plenty of hotels to crash safely for the night.

Yeah-- if you want to do a big St Patricks day thing, go to Newport. You'll have dozens of bars and restaurants to choose from in a one-mile radius all doing an over-the-top St Patricks day celebration, plus the parade. To avoid figuring out parking and designated drivers, you can take the RIPTA bus straight there (though staying over would be fun too).

Hah yep, it's either a fantastic or a terrible place to be on St. Patrick's depending on who you are

Being so new to the area I was looking for more of Providence specifically just since I will have a group with me and all that and living within 2 miles of Downtown.

But good to know about Newport if anything changes.

In my youth I called to rowdy-ness but what about semi rowdy-ness?
