My girlfriend (of nearly 2 years) comes home upset that the front door is locked and that I didn't hear her knocking because I "had those stupid fuckin' headphones" on my head. I've been home an hour or so at this point and I'm playing a video game so I couldn't hear her knock. She's cussing and walking around the house saying "you knew I was exhausted from work!" but this is such a minor issue, I don't get why she's now been locked away in our room for an hour. You'd think her hands were full or that she didn't have a key or something, but neither of those are true. In fact, I went to the grocery store after MY long day and carried the bags upstairs and unlocked the door myself. I deserve an award.

How much of this type of stuff would you accept? Not the first time, either. It's not my job to make sure the house is prepared for your arrival like I'm some servant. Use your key!

I doubt the real problem is the door. Sounds like she has deeper issues with you and if I had to guess I would say it’s probably the video games.
