Me and my girlfriend have been together 7 years but recently maybe say the last year or a little longer maybe 2 years I’ve felt like any time I try to tell her how I feel about a situation I’m almost scared to talk to her at the worry she will blow up or make me feel like the villain, I feel like I can’t talk to her to settle any concerns in my mind or even if somethings wrong with me and I want to apologise but explain myself when I get to explaining myself she shuts me down without listening and instead just gets infuriated with me and It’s like I can’t actually talk to her

The solution that springs to mind is to tell her how I feel I can’t talk to her about anything but every-time I try I’m shut down again, it’s either flipped or turns into something bigger than I wanted it to be and I just give up

I don’t want to breakup with her I love her and I want what we’ve had forever but it’s getting so hard now

You've surely both changed a lot since you were 13 and you've just possibly grown into people who are no longer compatible. You might try to couples counseling. But very few childhood romances go the distance and this is why.

Communication is the foundation of any relationship. The better it is the better results you can expect. Alternatively, the inability to communicate will doom a relationship. You’ll be miserable trying to walk on eggshells from now on.

The options you have are either fix it, deal with it, or leave. If she won’t accommodate to fix it, can you love with it going forward? If you can’t, then you have 1 option left; leave. Best of luck.

I would start by communicating this to her. If she’s too childish to talk to you about serious things(such as this) I’d leave her. She is neglecting you as a partner. It is not fair to you. You are allowed to feel things. You are not a burden.

You guys have grown up together. Could you just say that you really want this to work and that you feel your communication could be better so you’d like to see a therapist together?
