One of my dearest friends just got married and never had intimacy with his wife (due to religious purposes). He recently told me his wife is extremely afraid of getting intimate due to the fact that she's been sexually assaulted and raped by family members. The furtherest he can go is to hug and kiss her but even then she feels very uncomfortable and has flashbacks of being assaulted. He's newly married, just recently found out and is extremely upset at the fact that he found all this out after getting married. He's going very slowly with her considering her horrible experiences and is extremely patient but is worried his wife will never be comfortable when it comes to sex. What can I tell him or how can I guide them so that they can progress forward from this horrible situation. I truly wish people can think twice before assaulting someone because it truly impacts someone's entire life. I'm very sorry to all of those who have been sexually assaulted and abused. I pray this beautiful couple can find a way to a better relationship. Can people grow or get better from these difficult experiences or is it a loss cause in terms of getting intimate for this poor couple. Please serious answers only.
