I’d been dating this girl for over a month, and things moved really fast. She’d been acting a little distant so I asked her about it.
She said how she thinks she’s pulling away, which apparently happens with every guy she likes. We talked about it more and both wondered if we should continue.
It really sounded like she had an avoidant attachment style, and only wanted me when she felt she could chase me.
So I told her we should go our own ways. It sucks, but i feel like it had to be done.
I guess I’m asking for some reassurance. This is the first time I’ve broken things off with someone, and I’m constantly questioning whether I made the right choice or said the wrong things.
Any reassurance or thoughts would be nice.

You did. Avoidant people can really devastate you without intent.
I wouldn’t hold a grudge; she was honest and sounds like a decent person who isn’t cut out for relationships right now.
