Oh fuck yah, and it will usually be a bad one. I can think of 2 girls in my whole life that had the strength of mind to say I don't want to. Every other girl had a story of how they were politely unavailable. In some vauge ass unprovable way. I think they believe they are saving your feelings by avoiding direct rejection, or to avoid confrontation. Maybe both.

Some men become angry when rejected. We are taught at a young age to let people down gently….not to save you, but to save ourselves.

I see. That’s a reality I wasn’t aware of. If she did lie, I guess I can kinda understand now, but I still wouldn’t be completely okay with it. Thank you for sharing your insight

When women get rejected, they get hurt feelings and move on. When some men get rejected, they spew vitriol, make threats of violence, etc etc.

It wasn't meant to hurt or deceive you, it was meant to protect her.
