It would be more than reasonable to ask him not to share that information with you.

It's not just the sharing it with me that bugs me, it's him willingly listening to it from his friends etc. Like I guess I just wonder why he has to do that since I think it's pretty gross and unnecessary, but I'm not a guy, so maybe that's normal?

You're allowed to find it gross, and not every guy likes it (or every woman hates it). That said, what are you looking for here? So you want to ask him to leave the room when his friends talk about it? That's an impractical boundary, and at that point it somes more like an issue with him as a person. Maybe you are not compatible.

I dunno really, I guess I'm just wondering if it's like normal that someone can get so angry at their partner over something like this

Yes, some people have that as a boundary. It's OK for you to be offended and not want to be with someone who doesn't feel the same way as you.

Why does he need to share that information with you? lol

Boundaries matter and respect is important. You make your boundaries and he's encouraged to respect them.

I know I'm simplifying it but honor your discomfort and ask that he does also. If he cannot, it is your place to decide what matters most for you.

I mean I've told him that it makes me uncomfortable that he reads stuff like that but I know he's still going to do it. I guess I can't control him doing that but I just wish he wouldn't willingly listen to stuff like that y'know? IMO I don't think it's exactly rude to say you don't want to hear about your friend's happy ending in detail lol

Right, that's where the respect is supposed to fit in. His respect for you.

I'm still trying to talk to him about it but he says it's pointless and dumb and I guess to an extent, it is, but it just makes me feel like gross? I dunno. Should I keep trying or just accept the fact that it is what it is? His responses are just "okay" and "yeah well _____" so it's quite clear that he's not in a position to have understanding for me in this situation I think
