My ex decided to put an end to our relationship after confessing he had feelings for another girl. We have been together for 5 years! He told me how much he loved her and that he fell out of love with me. She seems pretty and has a good range of interests so I can understand why.

After he broke up with me I became anxious and talked to other people. I feel guilty though. Some time passes and lately him and I have been talking. The relationship between him and the new girl was on the rocks, and we’ve been getting closer and have talked about getting back together. However, one day he ended up finding out about what I did during our break up and he’s really upset with me. I don’t know what to do

You are broken up, you are no longer obligated to make him feel good about anything and are free to do what you want

He told you he loved another girl. Move on. He was willing to throw away 5 years with you for a quick lay.

You’re not together. He literally finished things with you to pursue another girl. Why are you even giving him the time of day? You’re appearing like a doormat, and I am not saying this to hurt your feelings, but he’s kicking back thinking aw she’ll be right back with me if this goes tits to. Do not be that person. Value yourself and tell him to fuck off. You deserve better.

all due respect I just assumed he wasn’t happy with me. though with how he came to his conclusion about his feelings for her I suspect some emotional cheating might have been at play here
