Tell him it's time for the stuff to go. If he can't find the time to get it sold, tell him you will drop it off at the nearest donation center, but it needs to be gone within the week. You have given him 7 months to move it. It's time to setup your living room.

This reply gave me joy I was so focused on being accommodating! I do agree an ultimatum seems necessary here.

Get some storage bins to organize and put away...boxes for donation and garbage bags for throw away. List some stuff to local marketplace and do it together one afternoon when you are both free. What I did with my boyfriends stuff is I just did it myself because he wouldn't do it. I showed him item by item and he told me... keep, donate, throw out. It was better me do it that way than spend a year looking at it.

Yeah that’s fair, I need to be more direct not bother explaining why it needs to be done but just flat out THIS item donate or throw away? He would say keep it and he will find a place for it… like the two bikes, which he now jokingly calls decor.

If you can get rid of some stuff then that would be progress...even if it's a few things at a time

Update: he punched a hole in the wall when I told him I need progress on donating and selling items, I feel nauseous. He said “you don’t know what kind of day I’ve had” is there a job high stress enough to justify that level of upset…
