Leave! It’s never just once. I know some people will say you guys were drinking and it’s the first time so give it a try, but do not. If you forgive him, he will tell himself it clearly wasn’t a big deal/issue to you and will lay his hands on you again. The more it happens, the harder it will be to leave. Get out now while you still can.

You can forgive him if you want, but that does not mean forget it. Do not stay. Love yourself more than he says he loves you. One strike your out. There is no rule that says people get a second strike. I know that you are confused. You will continue to be confused. But be confused alone, or with people who truly have your back and are not trying to get you to stay’ because everyone makes mistakes, he really loves you, he didn’t mean it, etc.If you stay, you will forever have the nagging voice that you do not have the respect for yourself. And you will never have respect for him again. But the fact is you will be sad and angry for not respecting yourself. Believe me Sister. I have your back. You are one of the first people that I have encountered here who is looking for validation in leaving. You know what you have to do. You do it! Pretend you are stronger than you feel and it will propel you forward. Forward is strength 🦋🦋🤘🤘🤘

Also, it is hard to set the boundary and something for us to remember is that anything that we have done pre- current relationship is none of their business. I have always had ex’s that would be mad at my life before them. Try to use things against me that were before them. I learned to never share my’ past‘life. Just a possibility that you might experience some time in your life. Stay safe and sane. Respect yourself because others might not.

Leave him. Once is enough whether you’re drunk or not. If you’re adult to drink you are adult to control your actions

His mask slipped, he’s crying because he doesn’t want to lose his punching bag. He will be so sweet and so sad and then when he feels you’re hooked again, he will do worse.

Run, before it’s too late.

Once that slap happened, you should've left. That mess isn't allowed in any relationship unless it's consensual within the realms of BDSM. Even then, that's a stretch.

Usually I would say leave but if drinking was involved I would say give it a try if he will stop drinking.

Wrong. Slapping someone for talking to an ex is abusive. Drinking is no excuse. She needs to leave him now, or it will only get worse.
