I recently got into a relationship with a guy after being in a situationship with him for almost a year. During the situationship we went on two vacations together, I met his family and reagularly hung out with him and his friends and we both agreed it was more than friends with benefits but both didn’t feel ready to be in a relationship again because we both just got out of longterm relationships. I know he cheated on every single girlfriend he had with multiple other girls. Also after I ended the situationship with him I found out that he was sleeping with two other girls during that time. I wasn’t really mad about it because we weren‘t in an official relationship and I had asked him in the beginning if he was okay with me sleeping with other people and he told me I could do what I want. But I was mad that he didn’t tell me about it. He explained to me that because I had asked that question he assumed I was sleeping with other people and not telling him about it as well, which I understood. It still kinda stung and now that I got into a serious relationship with him I‘m asking myself if someone who cheated so much in the past will ever be able to stop cheating. I do trust him but I still feel like this is preventing me from developing deeper feelings for him because I wanna protect myself from getting hurt. So what do you people think? Will a cheater ever stop cheating? I‘m hoping to maybe get some answers from people who have also cheated before as well.

Cheaters cheat. If you date a cheater, you should expect to be cheated on eventually.

I do really like him and have a lot of fun with him, so I wanna give it a try. He also does a lot of nice stuff for me and I see him starting to change other behaviors, too. I guess I just hope it works out.
