I'm sure you want local but if all else fails apparently Arby's has a pretty good one.

Northside Grille had it as their soup of the day recently. No idea if it's any good

Does it make me a piece of shit that I love Mrs. Fearnow’s? That yellow can soothes my soul.

Lol I liked it better than the yellow can 🤷‍♀️

Which is saying something bc I like the yellow can and have been eating it my entire life. Y’all are a bunch of gatekeepers on here or some shit Like if you love authentic Brunswick stew so much only buy it from a fire station like the real richmonders damn

There’s a fella that sells it outside of the Great Big Green house on Saturdays. At least he’s been there vending on the last couple Saturday trips I’ve taken over there.

It’s pretty good!

Unkol Chucks! The best I’ve had. Sold at area farmer’s market

Libbie Market usually has it. I’m not a Brunswick Stew connoisseur but I like it.

Try it from Buz and Ned's! Best I've found in the area so far. I see all the Unkol Chuck love...I found that one disappointing (though Unkol Chuck himself is a gem!).

My dad is a Brunswick stew connoisseur, and his favorites are from Libbie Market and The Butcher at Bon Air. I think he also liked it from Redemption BBQ as well.

Growing up they used to sell it at the Masonic Lodge on Westfield Rd in Midlothian on the weekends. Haven’t lived in that area in a while so I don’t know if the still do it. The stew was really good though.

They do have a good Brunswick stew, but I was severely disappointed by the ham biscuits I ordered on the side to go with it - they’re on some sweet, cinnamon biscuit which I was not expecting at all and kind of gross. Ham biscuits are supposed to be savory y’all.

Wait until fall when every other church in town is making it in their parking lot! Until then, Mrs. Fearnow's

Agreed on the ham biscuit thing. They will only use their sweet potato biscuits for this. Twice now I’ve asked if they can do a ham biscuit using their cheddar biscuit, been told yes, and when I pick it up, it’s sweet potato biscuits. And then they say they never use the other kind of biscuit for ham biscuits and I shouldn’t order that (but they take the order???). It’s just bizzaro. Seems like a simple ask for a sandwich shop? Hmmm…I got all ranty there, I guess I feel strongly about those sweet potato biscuits, lol.

I feel you, I have strong opinions about ham biscuits! They’re a Southern staple, you don’t need to “elevate” it or whatever by using sweet potatoes (which I hate and think are gross anyway). Just keep it a basic biscuit, cheddar biscuits if you’re feeling frisky.

We have ham biscuits at every family function, so I’m a bit of a connoisseur when it comes to them.

There is nothing close to Unkol Chuck's. He is so busy that you have to preorder nowadays.
