I don’t know but I can be pretty confident. That DoTC place is filled with people that want to continue their little club and they know that the public is against them. They’re actively trying to just go under the radar and stay out of trouble. Why would a group trying to stay out of trouble go around stirring up trouble? It makes much more sense that a redditor in a sub full of fervent left wingers, takes the opportunity to rile up anger towards them by making up a story that everyone will believe. This is internet 101 and is happens all the time on here.

In my experience echo chambers tend to all build their stories and anger on top of each other as some sort of fun and cathartic release…
