Erm… maybe I’m living under a rock but is this an actual problem?

Edit: not challenging the comment, just really curious if this is actually happening? My utility bill has gone up significantly since I moved in 3 years ago and I assumed it was a combo of more laundry/dishes (had a baby) and increasing prices
