Nothing wrong with Spirit as long as you look at planes solely as a mode of transportation

This service directly competes with Breeze Airways’ 4-times a week nonstop service. Prices starting at $109 each way from 5 May - 8 June.

This is very cool!

Why for only one month tho 😭

Thank you for posting, I may use this offer, but I wish it was longer.

I actually love spirit and they have never effed me over and I don't get any "hidden fees" some people say, cuz I don't purchase a seat I hit skip, I buy my bag way in advance always with my ticket, not last min, but iv heard they've gotten real expensive now tho unfortunately, the bags, but for me every time in past the extra bags costs still total was cheaper significantly then everything else. And I bring an empty water bottle thru tsa and refill b4 getting on plane at a refill water station on way to getting on the flight

This special offer is good for a month only because it is a way to get people to book and fly with Spirit (maybe even to try them out) - a way to fill up the flights…a great way to get a good deal. However, with Breeze competing on that route too, the competition usually keeps prices low since both airlines are competing for customers. So, the good deals could continue beyond just that one month.

Better than nothing, but I’ve heard nothing but horror stories about Spirit, from the hidden fees to the unruly passengers and the cramped seats.

Iv been flying with them forever and lots. They haven't ever fxcked me over, other airlines have. Southwest fxcked me the most, I will still fly with them if they r the cheapest.

To me, the fees aren't hidden and it's optional, except for bags but most airlines charge for bags but yeah 40lb only. I'd recommend for people to buy the lightest and largest possible suitcase u can use as checked baggage on plane, or Carry on, whatever you prefer.

I'm 5'6 so the seats don't bother me. Never encountered unruly passengers luckily, and iv flown at least 60 times with spirit

It’s fine honestly. I wouldn’t do it for anything more than like 4 hours but to avoid a layover it’s worth it.

Not Spirit, but booked a direct with Frontier and they last minute gave me a long layover switch-a-roo.

Breeze Airways would be the alternative for nonstop flights to LAS from RIC, so if you don't prefer Spirit, there is always Breeze; however, Breeze is not flying daily...yet, so you lose some flexibility to fly whenever you want.

I’m flying to Vegas non stop and first class in a few weeks for around $600 on Breeze. I’m so excited. I’ve never flown first class. I’ve also never flown non stop to Vegas.

This has nothing to do with Spirit Airlines.

Just so you aren’t disappointed, Breeze doesn’t have a “first class”

stayintall t1_jceiw0u wrote

I know. But it is the 3rd seat on the plane. That’s first class to me and I’ve never sat that close to the front before so let me live in my own little private mind garden! 🤣

Nicest seats are still basically the same as domestic first-class on other airlines. There’s quite a difference between the seat you booked and the seats in the back - no doubt! Enjoy it!

stayintall t1_jcf627q wrote

Nice that sounds good. I don’t care about it being bougie with free drinks or fancy service or whatever. I just wanted one price for all my luggage and a seat, and that deal was still better than the other airlines with layovers so all in it just made sense. Thanks for the feedback. I feel like I highjacked your post and you’ve been most gracious!

hooforce OP t1_jcfe8cj wrote

No, you didn’t highjack my post. Thanks for sharing your plans. I hope that you have a pleasant experience, that you’ll want to do it again…and tell your friends and family!

I’d recommend definitely eating before or getting some food to take on the plane. In Breeze “first class” you’ll get free soda/beer and a (large) bag of chips or candy, but there is no sort of substantive food and that is a pretty long flight. Just something to be aware of. Also, there is no wifi or entertainment, so be sure to download movies/tv ahead of time if that’s your thing.

Thanks for the tip! Airline food in general is pretty bad these days but good to know there isn't even a bad meal offered. I'll make sure to stock up before I head out!

Very exciting! Hope you have a great and memorable trip to Vegas. Enjoy that first-class (Nicest) seat on Breeze and live like royalty!
