We are pending our twin children and are looking for places that are a bit cheaper than where we got in at $1600 monthly. Does anybody have any insight they’re willing to share about which daycare and how much they’re paying?

Leaf spring school is $1420 a month for infant care. The rate is increasing to $1505 in August. It's nationally accredited and one of the few places with get well place i.e. sick care for minor illnesses with a nurse. Closed on most federal holidays but not every time rps closes. The wait list was a year out.
Sprout School is $1600 for infant care and closes when rps closes. No sick care or nurse on staff but nationally accredited. Waitlist was 18 months out for infant care.
Hope this helps. My experience is if you want something cheaper you look for in home daycare.
For anyone wondering, leaf spring is now a two year wait. Ie, if you aren’t already on the list, don’t even bother.
I called the Hanover location and they maybe had a spot for pre-k in the fall, but that’s pre-k and not for the younger ages. Most places were a year+ out.
Newish daycares that might have space for anyone looking. I know nothing about the quality.

Fulton Montessori School calculates tuition based on family income but maxes out at $305/week. Their hours for the toddler program are 8:30–5:00 year-round and it looks like you can get early drop-off for an additional fee.
Central Montessori is also full-day and year-round; $1650 per month minus whatever the sibling discount is these days.
If you’re interested in sending your kids to a Montessori school for preschool, I’d recommend getting them into a toddler program now as the local schools tend to fill up.
Loved central. Also note they had a yearly programming fee of like $600 or thereabouts but you could work that down by volunteering for events and stuff like doing laundry over the weekend. It’s a great community I highly recommend. I’d have my second going there, like my first, if our current daycare wasn’t significantly closer now that we don’t live downtown anymore.

I've called a ton of places over the last six months looking for placement for my infant (due in May, looking for childcare beginning in September) and have been put on waitlists everywhere (mostly for 2024 availability) if I've even received a response... just an FYI.
There is a Goddard school opening at regency and last I checked that had spots open, however it is one of the most expensive I have come across in the area at $444/week which is roughly $1700+ a month (insane)! But I think it’s one of the few places without a waitlist over a year or more…
I worked for a Goddard school in town and quickly left because they do not take care of babies the way I would want my children taken care of. Four month old babies on the floor screaming and crying and I’m told not to pick them up because they are spoiled. It was gross

I work from home but I do want my almost one year old to socialize with other kids so she can learn to share and things too. Daycare is expensive literally half of some monthly salaries people have sometimes or more, but I get it I guess 🫤

Westhampton day school. Pretty sure it has a wait list and I think the youngest they take is 2 at main campus. Look into preschools. If you are not in the rush, you may want to put them on a waitlist for preschools that start at two years old. I have found that the religiously affiliated preschools tend to be a little bit cheaper than traditional daycare, even for full day. My daughters program is open 7 AM to 530. We are not religious at all, and don’t feel like the school has taught her anything that worries us. They go to chapel twice a month and learn about sharing, friendship, respect, etc. They learn a little bit about Jesus and God, but the religious education part really isn’t in your face.

I believe so. We are on faison campus and that’s 3s and 4s. I think the main campus is 2s as well. We are really happy with the program, so if you are in the Willow lawn area, might be worth getting on a wait list!
Goddard School Walton Park is where we take our kid. Expensive but I think that’s everywhere. It is a great place in general bc the teachers are good!
Up until 18 months it’s about $1380 a month and just now went down $75 for turning 18 months (different room). But I do 4 days a week instead of 5. Also fully close the last week of December which is hinders us because we both work full time jobs.
I live nowhere near there but called them a few months ago. They quoted me 18 months out waiting list for my infant. But it’s good to hear you like the teachers because I will definitely consider them down the road!
There are only a handful of infant care options in city. Ms Babs is one of them. $1,791 monthly. Like many daycares, tuition decreases incrementally as the kids age up to different classrooms.

We have been happy overall. My son likes it. They are not always great at communicating, but they have committed to improving. I don’t have any serious complaints.
The learning experience just opened in Brandermill. We were able to get in right away
