Happy Sunday people

Is anyone aware if there are Asian beauty stores or stores that stock beauty/skin care products in the city? I can order online but I would really like to go around and shop.

Thank you in advance

I'd highly recommend heading up to northern VA. Face Shop and Tony Moly in Annandale have great products. Even Thingamajigs, which usually sells stationary and cute asian stuff, is starting to sell a few cosmetics now.

H Mart in Fairfax also has a few shops that sell some cosmetics, including some lotions and face washes in the home goods area.

Go grab some cute stuff, walk around Tysons mall, get some Korean bbq. Make a day trip out of it!

Tan A has a ton of products. I've never bought any or really checked them out but the whole front of the store is beauty products.

As someone who almost exclusively uses Asian skincare products and cosmetics would seriously advise looking online instead. Some shops may carry Asian beauty brands but they're usually marked up a ridiculous amount, and you can't really try them on before you buy anyways...you will save a lot of money buying online, and you can actually get a feel for how people like them through reviews

Hi, thank you for your recommendation.

I usually shop online but I would really like to go around and check stuff

It’s also taking ages for online delivery. If it’s ok with you, can you share from where you order.

Thank you

Sure. Yesstyle and stylevana can be really really slow and take months to arrive so I gave up on them. Jolse isn't super fast but they are more consistent if you don't mind waiting a while for your package, and the prices are good. Amazon is great for a few different brands and the products come super fast, just Google and check that the price isn't inflated before you buy. The best experience I had recently was from beautynetkorea. They sometimes have high shipping prices but the markdowns on the products can make it worth it. I got frustrated after canceling a stylevana order that hadn't shipped in over a month and ended up ordering from them. The package shipped the same day and came less than a week later from Korea lol. I believe it was dhl express shipping

That’s amazing. Even I prefer jolse but they don’t carry Japanese brands. And stylevana is extremely slow.

I’ll check beautynetkorea.

Thank you again

Ah yeah I mostly use Korean products but I've heard that dokodemo is good if you're looking for Japanese skincare

There's a Lotte in my parents' town, there really aren't skin products there.

I actually just looked at the Lotte in Annandale and it looks like it has a skin care section, I’ll be up there in two weeks and will check it out!

I could be speaking out of my butt here, but where my parents live there really isn't much of an East Asian community - primarily Desi, Latin, and some Middle Eastern. Maybe in places with more East Asian communities they change the sections to have more relevant products?

I know a guy who owns a beauty supply store with his wife, and they are both Asian, but I'm not sure if it's an Asian beauty supply store specifically.

It's called Venus Beauty Supply. Hope this helps.
