I've got a killer crockpot recipe I happen to be making today and it's just devine (especially when you add bourbon to the mugs right before serving if that's your jam)

Homemade apple cider:

Need:

Crockpot or large stock pot

Cutting board + knife and/or apple slicer

4-6 red apples (I prefer honey crisp but fuji work great too)

1-2 granny Smith apples

1 medium to large naval orange

Spices (I go by taste but here are rough measurements and can be adjusted to your pallet)

3-6 Cinnamon sticks

2-4 star anise

1tsp -1/2 tbsp allspice

10-20 whole cloves

1-2 tsp nutmeg

1/2 cup brown sugar (or white sugar w 1 tbsp molasses if you don't have brown sugar)

Core and cut up all your apples (skin removal optional) and slice up your orange (leave the rind on) chuck em and all your spices in the crockpot or stockpot on the stove. Fill with enough water to cover the fruit, give it a good stir. 4-6 hours on high or 10-12 hours low for the crockpot. For a stove top stock pot bring it up to barely a boil then put to low, barely medium heat for 4-6 hours. Add the brown sugar about halfway through for either method.

Your house will smell amazing. I reccomend making some Cinnamon rolls or pumpkin bread/muffins too with it.

This sounds delicious and easy. Was looking for apple cider for cocktails anyways so might have to try this out.

Takes all of 10 min to prep! Just give it a random stir every once in a while while it's cooking. It'll last up to a week in the fridge and you can just reheat it on the stove or you can freeze it for the future!
