This weekend we’ve got some family passing through for a couple/few days, bringing a well-behaved 70lb lab who apparently has some health issues and can’t be left alone for too long. I know plenty of breweries welcome dogs and do food, but these folks don’t drink and might not be comfortable there.

Can anyone here recommended a favorite restaurant that might work for taking these folks and their pup out to lunch or dinner?

Gonna be the down vote magnet here... Keep the dog home. If that means everyone stays home, order take out. It's pretty inconsiderate to bring an animal to a restaurant. Some people are allergic and it almost always (not always, but almost) violates VA health codes.

Brambly park allows dogs. It has an outdoor bar and considers itself a winery I guess, but it has a different vibe. I am not sure how someone who doesn’t drink would feel, but it’s not like a brewery to me at least.

A bit outside the city, but Fest (Biergarten) is very family and dog friendly. Love the food there, and though there is beer, I don't drink and don't feel out of place there 🙂

Also in the next shopping center over is Vampire Penguin, a shaved snow place that is also dog friendly! They do pup cups for dogs and their shaved snow is one of my favorite desserts in the richmond area.

Continental 2 patio Manchester. People bring entire dog beds there and just have their doggos on the patio.

Great food. Fun place. Good brunch too.

World of Beer in Short Pump. They even have a dog menu.

My dog has separation anxiety. Every once in a while I'll take him to Kickback Jacks outdoor bar and sit near the gate, or near the parking lot.
