I am moving to the area soon and was wondering if y'all could recommend a fence company. My yard is around 1 acre. Also if anyone has had a fence recently done could you share the cost?

Good Neighbor Fence Company out of Mechanicsville did a half acre for me and quoted $2500 less than the other three estimates I had done.
Hurricane did a great job for me last year and their price was about 20% lower than the other companies I got quotes from. Highly recommended.
Seconded
Fence Me In , I used to supply then when I worked at Lowe's, great guys who do great work.
They also make great decks!
We used Minor's Fences to replace ours. It's nowhere near an acre though.
My dad is a professional handyman and he built a privacy fence for his neighbor. I’ll be happy to send you his info if you’d like.
Fence me in and decks too.
Accent Fence and Hurricane Fence are both solid
We just moved into a new house on a couple acres in r/Hanover. After getting numerous quotes, we went with Fencescapes.
Highly recommended.
Do you mind sharing the quote price?
I’ll DM you some info but our situation is somewhat unique.
Rowe fence folks are good ppl.
I'll second Rowe fencing. Took down an old chain link fence and put up a new wooden one in two days, and were significantly cheaper than three 2 or 3 other companies that we got quotes from.
Hurricane Fence quoted me $19/ft for a crossbuck fence with wire

I’ve been researching coated chainlink fences with slats or screens. They seem to be the most cost effective solution, and can look nice.
Check with your HOA first.
