Hey I live near VCU and I was wondering where should I go to get my car inspected. I only ask cause not every car place does inspections apparently and I was looking for somewhere cheap. Thank you

The inspections are a flat amount though some places will waive the fee (for example, if you take it to a dealership).
What's expensive is the repair work if you don't pass.

Paradise garage! It’s within walking distance of campus and $16 for an inspection. Also, if you’re a female, they won’t try and screw you over saying things are wrong when they’re not

I just got mine done there last week and it was $20. Which is totally fine. But I always go there or Fritz’s because they are walking distance to me.

State inspections cost the same everywhere
The only difference in cost you should experience is labor rates and prices on parts depending on the work you may need to pass inspection. If you find a place charging differently for the inspection itself, you should report them to the Virginia State Police.
20 for normal cars/trucks/RVs/all trailers
51 for big trucks/busses (GVWR of 26,001+ lbs)
12 for motorcycles

General Auto at 2315 N. Lombardy. Its over by VUU, but they are cheap, and they do good work for less. 804-321-7101. I think inspections are $20.

Isn't it state law that they can only charge a set amount? The big issue is that right now most places will be really busy because everyone is trying to get one at the end of the month.
