I understand, it's tough. But it's not going to do much for his life expectancy.

I think once he is returned we are going to be keeping him inside moving forward. This is definitely a reality check, but we just want him back :(

If you find Little isn't adaptive to indoor only life, get a slip-on tag (that slides over his collar instead of hanging down) for his collar and with your phone#, also have it say "indoor/outdoor cat" so people know he's not abandoned! That is what we did with our rescue feral that struggled to adapt.
