I’m a first time homeowner in glen Allen and don’t know who I would contact to get this done. I just want to move it to a different place in my yard so hopefully a pretty quick job for someone with the right equipment. The shed is propped up on cinder blocks and is around 11’x7’. Any recommendations?

You only need to lift the front, slide in some 4” pvc and use a roller system to move it pretty easily.

That seems harder than moving a shed lmao

It's really easy on pavement, but might be hard if the ground is rough.
Would probably need only 3-4 people and 3-4 pieces of PVC pipe (not corrugated drain pipe). Shed would also need floor joists of some sort both left-right and front-back so that the pipes don't simply drop between them when you try to turn the shed.

I got my shed from Old Hickory on route 1 in Ashland. They were really helpful. Maybe call them and see if they can help you out?

Call around to the places who sell sheds and ask them if they move sheds they don’t sell. This is what my SO did and while the company didn’t move it, one of them gave us the contact information who does. Guy move an 10x12 shed from north side to south side in like 2 hours for $500. If you can’t find anyone, I’ll see if SO can find the contact info. Chris was such a legit dude.

Antigrav pads or skyhooks!

I’ve never moved something as large as a shed but I’ve moved full raised planters, hot tubs, other dumb stuff over bumpy and uneven ground without much fuss.
If the pipes are longer than the shed is wide it’ll roll pretty well.

How about those slick pads you put under a couch to move it. They are on sale at Lowes for under 10 bucks

If they filled the whole yard with water, they could just float the shed to the new location. Easy peasy. 😋

Watch this video (and others on YouTube.). An 11x7 shed is easy if the yard is flat.

Brilliant. So all they need is a handful of beavers to build a dam. No friends required

That’s how we moved a pool table when I was a kid. Bought a pony keg and the ticket to the party was helping move the thing.

That last point is the main reason I’m looking for someone with machinery to move it. The bottom of the shed is 3 beams that run perpendicular to the direction that I want to move it. I think it would make the roller method a real pain unless I’m thinking about something very incorrectly.

I think you've got it. You'd somehow have to add a perimeter beam to the two open sides.
Might ask one of the companies that sell the sheds new.

Mast Transit Inc., Josh Mast, 434-547-6684. He contracts with a few local shed and barn retailers for delivery. Has the equipment.

My wife and I moved our shed across an uneven backyard with pvc pipes. We jacked it up using our car jacks, attached a 2x6 board underneath the joists (basically gave the shed a ski on each side), slid the pvc pipes underneath, then pushed.
Pic so you can see the 2x6 ski.

Oh I did the same thing! Chris was great I think his number was (804) 878-2622. No idea if that is STILL his number though. It has been a bit. I would definitely recommend him.

I called around to a bunch of places that sold sheds and asked for numbers of people who did the moving. (804) 878-2622 Chris did a great job on my shed move. No idea if that number is still accurate. It has been quite awhile.

Get about 10 or so friends together and pick it up with those heavy duty moving straps. Probably dont even need that many people. What could go wrong.
