Saved this sweetie from a cat in our apartment building's parking lot in Glen Allen. Seems to have an injured leg, but my partner thinks it may be feigning? It didn't fight me at all when I put it in our cat's pet carrier, and ate a bit of lettuce and banana from my hand.
Can anyone help me find this sweetie's owner? (My partner is posting on facebook.) If no luck, is anyone willing & able to adopt? Again it may have an injured leg; I'm not sure and all the places I've tried calling told us to take it to a specialty vet, which I will try to do, but not sure I'll make it before they close.

Rabbits are prey animals. Prey animals don't feign injuries; that would be very dangerous for them. If it is acting injured at all, it most definitely is.

Thank you! I've been googling constantly since posting and feel more informed. He doesn't seem to be in pain, but I'm still worried and monitoring his leg.
We only gave him a bit of banana, though he wanted more lol. I made sure they weren't toxic, just wanted to make sure he had some kind of sustenance before we got him real food. He's currently munching on some timothy hay :)

Also, too much banana is really bad for rabbits. Be sure to Google any food before you give it to the rabbit.

Any vet, even Banfield, can scan it for a microchip without an appt, just walk in, explain what happened and they'll quickly scan to see if something pops up.

Wellesley is one of the only rabbit vets in the area (thats where we go to take ours) they may be able to help at least on its health and well being before you decide to turn it over to one of the animal control shelters or adopt out or whatever you choose.

In the mean time try and get some timothy hay (any pet store should have it), lettuce (spring mix from any grocery store) can put that in a small bowl too, water (in a bowl is fine), pellets (use sparingly), dont over do on fruits/ use sparingly and they can be easily-ish potty trained, some normal bedding from any pet store and a normal litter box should do the trick. EDIT: Try and feed every 8 to 12 hours. any longer and they can get sick and with an already existing injury wanna make sure the fur bebe is taken care of.

if its an absolute emergency (the injury/ leg) VRCC MAY be able to do something depending on what you ask and how you ask AND theres a place up near DC thats 24/7. I dont remember the name, but im sure a quick google or me asking my wife can answer that if need be.

Thank you for all the advice! Partner Vet didn't find a chip, and didn't have any vets in today who felt comfortable giving us medical advice. At Petsmart now to buy him things, will be getting all you recommended and a bit more to try and keep him comfortable.
One of his legs is red, but seems more from rubbing or something than anything else? No active bleeding at least, and he let me gently extend them. I had a pet rabbit as a kid, and it worries me that he's laying on his side rather than his feet like mine used to, but he also seems like a chill lil bb?? Hopefully it's just that; I at least don't think he needs emergency care. Will find out Monday, or sooner if anything changes and we take him into that ER.
Once we're home we're going to carefully give him a sponge bath per google instructions and inspect as much as we can. Will update if any questions. Thanks again!

Sometimes laying on its side is a good think and can even look super dead, its called flopping which means they are very relaxed and feel safe. I hate it gives me a heart attack EVERY TIME! but my wife loves the bunnies so we have bunnies.
theres these things called salt cubes or salt licks that are good "treats". make sure you put up wires when you get home because they like to chew on phone chargers.

Does it happen to have a alphanumeric tattoo in its left ear? Rabbit breeders will tattoo their rabbits for identification.

Reddit r/rabbits is very active with lots of advice posts. I recommend you post questions there for rabbit care. I believe Richmond SPCA will take rabbits if you can't find the owner. Also try Richmond Animal League (RAL). And thank-you for helping out this cute bun.

If you don't have any luck with either of them, another option is Bunny Lu Adoptions, a bunny rescue out of Warrenton (where I got my bunnies, when I had them.)

unfortunately it's not unheard of for people to dump pet rabbits when they no longer want to take care of them, thinking they'll be able to care of themselves. (they can't, they're domesticated) And this is definitely a domesticated rabbit, hope you can find it's home or find it a new one.
