Looking for alfajores, sandwich cookie with dulce de leche in between. I’ve searched the sub and was surprised there isn’t a single thread about these awesome lil things. I’ve been to a few Latin supermarkets and haven’t seen them.

To add on, for a single one they're something like $3.15, but if you buy the treat pack (or something named like that) it's 2 for $5.75

Ah, word, thanks. We were actually on our way to watch the final there. I went yesterday to pick up a bunch for today to watch the game with some friends. Then one of them and their baby had some virus so we couldn't hang. But the Empanada Market guy had said a bunch of Argentinians were coming to watch if there so we went instead of just sitting at home. It was cool.

Hmm, probably a step or 2 above Chicken Fiesta and Whole Foods lol, but I’m definitely trying to keep the authenticity in the food, though it is closer than La Sabrosita lol.

Mammoth_Programmer39 t1_j0poq2e wrote

True, I understand that. They are very good though and not over the top sweet like SD usually is

Second Di Genaro. They have alfajores de Maizena. If you find yourself to close to Alexandria one day, go to Tango Pastry.

I’ve had Chicken Fiestas but they’re more like the Argentinian style. I’d love to find somewhere around here that offers Chilean cuisine! Yummm 😋

Let me know if you do. I lived in Miami for a bit and there was a Chilean place with Empanadas de Pino that were amazing.

I know I can't explain the difference but I know there is one. And I miss the Chilean stuff.

Nobody makes them like my Titi (abuela) but La Sabrosita comes pretty darn close.

Get abuelita over here, at all costs! I’ve started to try and get their recipes recently as they get older cause…you know :c

I have her recipe but it takes forever to make them and she makes her own dulce. I’ll make them someday!!

making own dulce is surprisingly easy, my mom used to do it all the time. Just don't wander off while you are doing it, it's a messy explosion it turns out
