Hah I would have worked this show. Would have been my second or third wrestling event.
My problem with the coliseum being closed is that it was a fully functional venue and was shut down as a political pawn by Stoney to get the navy hill project approved.
In the years prior it was deliberately under maintained... just compare it to the Scope.
Hundreds of people lost work because of that.

Ah that’s great. I remember the next day I was flying out of RIC to LAX. John Cena pulled up at the urinal next to me in the RIC bathroom. His elbow touched my arm. Never washed it since.

I remember my mom would win tickets all the time from those radio giveaways they’d do when WWE was in town. I miss the Coliseum (and this shitty era of wrestling)

Idiotic that the Coliseum isn’t around anymore. The entire state barely has any large scale arena’s and it makes the state a cultural wasteland. Tired of driving to DC or Norfolk

SAME. I moved here after the Coliseum’s closure, and it’s been tough going to large shows living here. The drive to both cities is always tough. Have to build in at least 2 hours on either side of the day just to drive. It sucks.

I worked that show. I had lunch with some of the wrestlers in catering. It was pretty surreal when Sgt. Slaughter sat down just because I had his GI Joe when I was a kid.

The WWF and Monster Jam shows at the Coliseum were fucking great - I miss them coming to town. I'm not lobbying for the Coliseum to stay, but I'm sad to see it go.
