Friends are traveling through Richmond and staying downtown at the Delta Hotel by Marriot on Canal. We want to eat outside. Does anyone know of restaurant's that have outdoor seating with heat in that area?

Burger bach in carytown has heaters and wind partitions. They should be doable 50 degrees or warmer
Plus the before or after dinner walk through carytown
Cobra Cabana has fire pits in the back, blue atlas has fire pits on the lawn, there are heaters at Jack Browns, Helen’s, Goatcado, Supper, Little Nickel, Greek on Cary

Hobnob has a covered outdoor patio area. Portico would be a far drive but very enjoyable! I'd call both before making the trek to see about reservations. Last time I went to Little Nickel (suggested by someone else) they weren't using their heating lamps, unsure if that was a one time thing or what.
The Hill Cafe and Grisette both come to mind. Not too far from there.

Not really. Given that, allegedly, the owner promptly fired that person and that the health inspector was really interested in learning more would suggest the owner was already aware of the alleged violations and is trying to skate by as long as possible.
Who knows how long those violations have been occurring or if other staff knew and aren't addressing it.
I like Hobnob like many others in and out of Lakeside, but I'm holding off on visiting them again for a while until I see a follow-up or new health inspection report.
River City Roll has a nice outdoor heated seating area and bar.
Penny Lane is in walking distance to the Delta and has an enclosed heated patio!
City Dogs in the Fan!
Fall/Line has the igloos with heat outside pretty cool - on broad St at the Marriott hotel.
