I run a club at vcu about diversity in natural sciences. We are doing a collaging & movie event next Wednesday night. The goal is to get students thinking about what ecological processes and areas they find interesting, and helps the officers of the club suit our activities to these interests. I am having a really hard time finding cheap magazines online that get here in time and aren't expensive with shipping. Has anyone seen or know of any places I can buy/acquire cheap National Geographic magazines or something similar? This is coming out of my pocket for now, and I'm a broke college student. Any information would be super helpful, Thanks :).

Talk to stores that sell magazines or check their trash. If magazines don’t sell they rip the cover off to mail back for credit and throw the body away. Scrap RVA might have something that could work for you too.

I gave 14 banker boxes of old Geographics to another Redditor two years ago. Sorry about that.

You might want to check out Whiting’s Old Paper in the Antique Village Mall on Chamberlayne Road in Mechanicsville.

Maybe the local libraries would have some? Seems like the sort of thing that might get donated to a library and be thrown away if the library doesn't need them.

I have two years worth of old Nat Geo mags from @2017 I was going to donate but can hook you up with for free if you like.

You might check with the Barnes & Noble on campus to see what they do with out of date magazines. They always seem to have a bunch on the shelves before they get changed out.

I know someone who had a bunch of them. I'll find out if they still have them.

The Richmond Book Shop, (808 W Broad St) has lots of mags and I'm sure they have NatGeo. It's a small independent store and they have limited hours. They'll be open on Friday this week. I follow them on FB and they usually open from 3-6.
