Pot and The Last of Us Part 1 on PS5. Trying to get ahead of the next episode of the new show on Sunday.

Other than that, keeping an eye on the mod queue now that Memphis PD released the video of Tyre Nichols. I don’t have the stomach to watch that tonight so I’ll see it tomorrow. 😕

But tomorrow? I don’t have the stomach to watch it, period. It’s disgusting, rage inducing, and just….awful. And I don’t have to watch it to know that.

Ooh. I just started watching the HBO dramatic adaptation of TLOU. I know nothing about gaming but I like the show!!

It’s a fantastic adaptation of the game. The casting and production so far nails it!

I played it when it originally came out for PS3, then the remaster for PS4, and now this rebuilt (and gorgeous) version for PS5.

The second game is heavy AF. I can’t wait to see how they adapt it for TV—assuming it’s renewed and gets to that point. It sounds all-but certain it’ll be renewed, though.

It was renewed for Season 2 earlier today.

Oh sweet! I'd been heads down on work all day and still haven't caught up with today's news. That's great, though. Woo hoo!

The show is so good and follows the game so perfectly so far. Good luck in the game

Oh, this is my third play-through. The new version for PS5 feels like a brand new game even though it’s the same game I’ve already played before.

Naughty Dog is my favorite game studio. Between Uncharted and TLOU, they’re largely the reason why I got my PS3 and PS4.

No worries, I was just wishing you good luck. I'm a big fan of the game as well. Enjoy!

Def am! It's really neat seeing scenes that are 100% picture-perfect duplicates between the game and the show. The amount of work they put into some of the show's sets that are only seen that one time on screen is incredible.

Also enjoying seeing some of the subtle—and some huge—differences they made for the show and it's getting me to think about things a bit differently for the game.

fitzmouse t1_j6714i5 wrote

Tlou is the one game I wish I could experience for the first time again. I've played it so many times since launch.

And I'm really enjoying the show! I remember saying to myself please don't suck, please don't suck before the premiere.

Been fighting a head cold all week so taking it easy with some bud and games.

Watched our latest taxpayer funded snuff film and while I could say a lot I'll keep it short and sweet and say we need to do better than the dumb motherfuckers that get to be cops currently. Otherwise people will continue to rightfully hate them, and people that actually need help aren't going to get it.

Feel better!

And yeah, I hear you on that last part. I just don't want to watch it tonight. A post-apocalyptic inescapable fungi infection storyline doesn't give me nightmares but I'm sure that video would if I saw it hours before I go to sleep. :(

BurkeyTurger t1_j66kcd8 wrote

Thanks!

Nothing that you or I can do will change between tonight and tomorrow so you have a good plan.

On a more upbeat note I'm glad that TLoU seems to be good. Once this season is over I plan on resubbing to watch it and House of the Dragon. Normally I'd just torrent it but I'd like for the views to count.

Pot and Fallout4 for us. Then going to eat pizza in honor of our pizza-fiend of a cat who we said goodbye to yesterday. So glad that she didn't like pineapples on her pizza, ugh.

I cannot take Fallout games. I get so upset with everyone asking me to do things... I need linear story lines or it feels too much like real life. Enjoy, though!

fusion260 t1_j66h30n wrote

I'd be playing FO4 tonight if it wasn't for the fact that no matter what, I can't actually make it through the Goodneighbor part of the story without the game constantly crashing on me. Without mods, with mods, various angles of approaching the city, on PS4 or PS5 (with the PS4 game), no matter what character or save file. It's driving me absolutely mad!

I'm looking forward to the next-gen update they're releasing for free sometime this year, though. But if they haven't fixed whatever bug that is in the new update, I might be swearing off FO4 forever.

Also, I'm very sorry to hear about your cat. My dog, who we said goodbye to August 2021, absolutely loved pizza crust. She'd smell it before a delivery person got to the front door, and she'd be able to tell if we were taking a frozen pizza out from the freezer just by the sound. She wouldn't react to any other box we took out of it. It was uncanny! Her last meal during her "going away party" was unlimited pizza crust. She had a good night 🥹

Getting some strange: tonight I’m house sitting and caring for two cats and a dog. Enjoying the cuddles.

After this I might just watch a movie and happily fall asleep during it. Why did this week feel so long? Why am I so tired?

Four more days in dry January I'm looking forward to having a glass of wine again. Seven more pounds to lose before I can have beer again sadly

Same. I’m debating just continuing to not drink for awhile tbh

Why not continue?

Kelevracado4287 t1_j682gbx wrote

shrug Idk. Def a little quieter without drinking, but that’s good too. Yet I wonder if I’m putting no effort into going out because I’m not drinking…or if going out to bars/trying to link up with people has real purpose

2

DefaultSubsAreTerrib t1_j682qw6 wrote

Trying to link up with people has real purpose. Whether you need alcohol to do that is a different question.

2

ImmobilizedbyCheese t1_j6849sc wrote

Same. I don't think I should be dry forever though because it will not ultimately bring me happiness. Putting another boundary on myself has made me even more antisocial, bitter at my spouse and missing out on a huge section of Richmond entertainment.

Kelevracado4287 t1_j684gvr wrote

Yea. Like I KNOW so many people so going out I always run into people (side job is a very popular bar in the city for metal heads/punks/vegans) so I love chilling there with my shift drink.

My problem is I live alone, single, and struggle to find things to do. So a lot of times I just go to a bar I know- but that has ended up in me blacking out at times and being shitty.

But other times it leaves me on adventures I wouldn’t be doing if I was sober.

Also calories/missing the gym is something I’m trying to avoid.

2

ImmobilizedbyCheese t1_j68issd wrote

This is why I don't want anything harder than beer in the house and will focus on getting just one nice mixed drink and hydrating more when going out.

1

Charlesinrichmond t1_j695wht wrote

blacking out is not good... Maybe stick to beer and wine and see how that goes?

Or give up drinking of course, it's the right solution for many people. Only you know the answer

1

Charlesinrichmond t1_j695rfj wrote

I never get drunk, but I LOVE wine and I LOVE beer. Which is why I do dry January, I like it enough that I keep awareness.

But I also don't feel better after giving up drinking. Not drinking is the righ choice for many, but I don't feel it is for me.

We had dinner at Uliveto, and man, that was kind of disappointing. I was so excited to try it. Service at the bar was not great, not to mention they have one too many stools at the bar so that no one can actually eat comfortably. Do you love eating with your elbow in someone else's armpit? Then the bar is your place!

The food was ok, but I didn't feel it was markedly better than any other "Italian" restaurant in Richmond. Except the leek bruschetta was delicious. Maybe they'll work out the kinks, but if I'm dropping almost $200 on dinner for two, they need to improve either the experience or the food.

It’s cocktail night and I’m feeling pretty solid y’all. Is there somewhere in Richmond where I can buy a singular can of the hard Baja blast? I’m curious to see what it taste like but I don’t wanna commit to a whole case.
