Looking for local adrenaline rush activities. Not afraid of heights or speed. That's really it.
Thanks

I really expected the first answer to be about the Lombardy Kroger.
But in all serious, trail running at night is pretty fun, if that’s your kind of thing. Also riverside outfitters paddle trips are great.
This hurts my ankles to think about lol
You could date my ex-wife.
Join the broad St bullies then post about your experience with them on this sub
be a woman and walk alone at night
Kings Dominion and Busch Gardens. There’s skydiving out of West Point.
The season pass to Kings Dominion is a great deal. If you go a lot, the food and drink passes are totally worth it.
The season pass and food plan is definitely a killer deal if you like coasters or plan to attend holiday events. It ends up being a couple hundred bucks per individual, but when you factor in you literally have zero expenses aside from gas for the rest of the year it can quickly become super cheap entertainment overall.
You're better off going to Orange to Skydive.
my SIL talked me into going on the Delirium at KD (I'm a huge coward when it comes to rides, like the scooby doo was too much for me as a kid) and yeah that'll get your juices flowing
I don't know if they're doing it again this year but the Richmond SPCA organized a "rappel down a building" fundraising event last year.
This is legitimately cool
Doesn’t that thing require you to get literally thousands of dollars in donations to participate?
Just $1,000
I did this!! Legit the most fun/terrifying thing I have done. To include skydiving and ‘black water rafting’ which is basically tubing through a cave
Mountain biking, whitewater kayaking. Drive to the coast and do some kiteboarding. Drive to snowshoe or timberline and ski/snowboard.
I always tell people RVA is a city where you can do anything within 3 hours. Not much is what you’d call “world class” but you can do basically anything.
Quick round up: surfing, kayaking or kiteboarding towards VA beach. Jet skiing, wakeboarding, tubing etc on many of the lakes and rivers. Cycling in the Blue Ridge, Virginia Creeper Trail or Capital Trail. Skydiving out of West Point. Mountain biking trails in the city or further out towards the mountains. Mild white water on the James, world class white water in WV on the New or Gauley River. Off-roading on the Hatfield and McCoy trails. Indoor Rock Climbing at Triangle or Peak. Outdoor Climbing at Belle Isle or Manchester Bridge in the city, dozens of spots in the mountains, or multi-pitch guided climbing at Seneca Rocks out in WV. Snowboarding or skiing at Wintergreen or Massanutten. Caving/Spelunking throughout the Blue Ridge (commercial tourist caves or undeveloped caves to explore.) Coasters at Busch Gardens or Kings Dominion. The list of stuff around the area is… extensive.
RVA Paddlesports. Kayak instruction, rafting etc.
Welcome to Reddit man. Everyone thinks they’re a comedian lol. “How bout walking across broad at rush hour?!? HARDYHARDY HARD”
I prize my wry sense of humor and wittiness. Unable to locate people who adequately appreciate those things in real life, I came to Reddit.
Well you’re not that clever lol
Rockwall climbing at Triangle or Peak scratches the itch and helped me get in better shape.
Do you have to have someone for belay?
They have a few autos
As coffee said they have autos and everyone there I've encountered (except for the older couple that is there Saturday mornings) is super nice. I've belayed with strangers several times.
Bouldering is fun, you just fall on the big mats
Speed run the pipeline all the way to Brown's Island, when the water level is just high enough to cover the pipe at the end?
Go bouldering, there was a recent post here about where to go (buttermilk trail)
Outdoor climbing wall in Manchester
Kayak the class 5 rapids near downtown
Bike the buttermilk trail
And another vote to try improv, now that’s scary
The biggest rapids (Hollywood, pipeline) are class IV when the river is high, class III when it’s not.
I think it's kind of subjective - if you are used to riding roller coasters of all kinds then the local theme parks (fun as they are) probably won't give you the rush you're looking for.
Paddling the river could do it if you're not used to low-class rapids (depending on which parts of the river and what type of boat/trip you take, also the flow rate).
Otherwise, there's skydiving options within about an hour or two in at least 3 directions from the city.
Or, perhaps you get adrenaline from other means - I think there's a local improv comedy workshop around that eventually has you performing live.
Haha good one and thank you!!! Just thinking of doing improv gets my heart racing just give the parachute instead.
Hollywood rapids in a sit-on-top kayak that has all your treasured items in a paper bag resting on top.
There’s the adventure park down in Virginia Beach. We had lots of fun with that. All skill levels from 10-20 ft climbs to 40-60ft climbs with more challenging obstacles and always fun zip lines. Really really fun.
There is also an indoor skydiving place in Virginia Beach.
Check out some of the local group rides like Dirtbags100 and BikeBuds. They post ride info on their instas.
Have a few bevs, sign up for the military, drive down to a nearby fort, get in a tank. Profit.
Well according to my husband: balloon rides. He's terrified (he honestly thought we were going to be flying around the city in a balloon like we're in 180 days around the world or whatever)
Haha sounds like a romantic time over some wine vineyards
