In my humble opinion, as a lifelong theater professional, the carpenter center which was originally a Loew’s movie palace designed in a Spanish and moorish theme, is the baddest ass theater in the area to enjoy a show in. Feels like you’re out in a courtyard under the stars.

We need an edit, OP!

No edit. It basically means OPs husband is talking cash shit about the decor.

How are you going to use another weird-ass adjective to explain a confusing adjective? 😂

🤣What's that mean? I'm still not sure if husband likes the decor or not. lol. But I'm loving this thread.

Listen, he’s flipping the gurdy and going straight kitchen on that decor.

The Cube, Bryan. You know, the place you go to skate to clear your head?

I thought cash was good?!

I’ve worked in the carpenter theatre and always found it neat and gaudy in a perfect way.

If it’s not his cup of tea there are plenty of top notch sterile auditoriums in the county high schools.

I think it's 'loving the decor to death'?

Edit: Nope, 'read for filth' is actually a thing:

So I guess husband doesn't like the venue?

Not a venue, but Old City Hall is pretty cool inside:

His choices are… something? Does he also think that Drag Race is better as 45 minute episodes and watches Real Friends of WeHo?

Intermission time so clarifying that yes, reading for filth means he doesn't like the decor. He feels like he's in an Olive Garden. Wall and carpet don't work and the turquoise all over doesnt help all the various blues. It's like Roman and Morrocan themes trying to make it work. All his opinions and hastily put together while getting a drink and Reeses Pieces.

Igard95 t1_j6bylxv wrote

Considering his choice of candy is Reese’s pieces, I don’t think his opinion on decor really matters.

Tell him his opinion is bad and he should feel bad.

LOL, Richmonders love their Carpenter Theater and also “the Mosque” (Altria Theater). It’s funny, growing up, I always thought Carpenter was the more attractive one.
