If you buy a ticket in person at the Altria Theater Box Office, do they charge the same heinous "ticket fee" that they do online at etix?

The ticket on etix will charge $19.25 on a $78.50 ticket which ENRAGES me. I know they all do it, but UHG!! I'm wondering if it would be worth it to go and buy the ticket in person. They say "Service charges apply to all orders" but I'm wondering if it is 25% like it is online...

AND they charge you $2.75 to print your own DAMN ticket. Infuriating!!

They do not, but they also don't offer whatever random discount you get from ordering online - so in my experience, the ticket prices were about the same between the two. Might depend on show or whatever though.

The National doesn’t charge any fees for in person purchases. I go that route every time both because of this and because I like to keep physical ticket stubs.

Definitely buy your tickets at the box office (around the corner from the main entrance on W. Main). I was getting four tickets to My Fair Lady in the first balcony and they were coming out to about $400-450 online. Went to the box office and it was about $200 (not exaggerating). If you look closely on the ticketing website, there's a small disclaimer that says they are a 3rd party seller and prices may not reflect the actual ticket price. Such a scam.

I think the box office is open around lunchtime most weekdays - you could call in advance to check.

I always try to buy tickets at box offices or physical locations when I can. The fees are usually a lot cheaper, only a few dollars, and they are usually going to venue instead of ticket master or axs. Tickets are sometime not often cheaper too.

The National sells tickets for VACU live and Plan 9 sell tickets for a lot of Brown's Island shows
