Richmond Superbike on Williamsburg Road off of Laburnum. Not the cheapest but they’ve always been super transparent with me about what they were doing and why. I wish my car mechanics were so open.
Absolutely not. Joey, the guy who owns it, is a clown. He tried to upsell me on thousands of dollars worth of suspension shit that was wholly unnecessary when all I needed was fork seals and fork oil. .
I wanted to like E&F, but ended up having a bad experience. Would not recommend.
Sorry you had a bad experience. All I can do is report on my own, which have been good.
Is this an HD only shop?
Moto & Scoot Richmond off of Midlothian. It may be a little further out of town now but they have a great service department.
They def specialize in HD, but I didn’t think they were exclusive. To be fair, I haven’t been since just after they opened and that was with a friend who was renting time in a repair bay to work on his own bike (which was was a Harley). My friend had a good experience, and Cory seems like a super knowledgeable mechanic. Maybe just give them a call if you’re interested.
With as busy as they’ve been I don’t believe they’re working on anything other than HD or Buell right now
Seconded. Great shop.
Another vote for Moto/Scoot Richmond. I worked in service til fairly recently. They are an excellent company and excellent folks both in sales and service. Incredibly knowledgeable service department as well.
So glad they’re still doing well. I bought a scooter from them in 2008 and they were great.
Yeah I also came here to say the same thing about this place, a shame to see that hasn't been everyone's experience there. Good to keep an eye on though when I need a mechanic again
Another vote for Moto Richmond!!!
Cory is the shit and helped me move my partners motorcycle free of charge after he passed away from one house to my new house. I solidly back them!
what is regular maintenance. Chains, tires, sprockets and oil can all be done in a driveway (this is how I do it). If you are mechanically inclined, you can do valves and carbs also, though I take those projects to my neighbor who runs a repair shop from his house.
he's a wizard with carbs.
Also checkout RVAMotorcycles on FB (if you're on FB) for more answers to this and other RVA related moto questions.
Check out Dean Freeberg in Mechanicsville. I’ll get his contact info shortly.
They have excellent sales but service leaves much to be desired. When they struggle with Piaggio, I’d hesitate to take them another brand.
I bought a used bike and I'm not really sure how this thing was maintained in the past. Surely i can do a regular maintenance, that's not an issue. Actually when i was doing it for the first time.on the bike i noticed few things which I'm not sure of. For instance: almost missing coolant:-). There are others but would like someone with good eyes and ears to tell me what piece of crap i paid money for ;-).
