I am trying to get into an inpatient detox asap. I'm on probation. I'm also on MAT and was doing well until Thanksgiving. I relapsed and I've given numerous positive UA screens as it seems like the fentynal is staying in my system forever, even though I'm currently not using anything but the methadone. I'm hoping to find somewhere that accepts Medicaid, where I can stay for 3 to 7 days to detox, I'm open to detoxing off the methadone as well if I can get the implant. Do any detox centers still dose you if you are on methadone while you come in? I would appreciate any help.

Thank you! I'm trying and I've never been to rehab before. 20 plus years of addiction and only ever detoxed in jail!

I don't know who accepts medicaid, but Williamsville Wellness is in Hanover, and in my humble opinion people that leave Williamsville leave Williamsville focused on their recovery. If I had to go somewhere close, I'd go there.

Call McShin at 804-249-1845 and let them know your situation. Based on their recommendation I went to a RCA facility in Maryland. If you let them know you are on MAT, they'll see to it that you'll get your treatment.

One thing McShin told me was to not seek treatment in your backyard, where its easy & convenient to leave against medical advice and hit the streets. You might want to consider options outside the immediate area.

Vcu and Tucker’s at Chippenham do impatient medical detox. I don’t know the requirements, but 700 Dinwiddie Ave., the healing place might be looking into.

Edit, there is also the healing place for women on Stockton.

While the major hospitals are probably good suggestions, I would absolutely avoid The Healing Place. From the experiences I’ve seen with people that have ended up there, it’s not a healthy place at all and doesn’t promote the skills needed to stay clean

I wholeheartedly disagree. I, personally, know a ton of people that were able to achieve Sobriety through The Healing Place. They are strict, but as they say “It works, if you work it.”

Tuckers or maybe contact RBHA? I know they have services dedicated to substance use treatment

RBHA may be able to help you—they definitely accept Medicaid. They may have a waitlist but unfortunately that’s common these days. Congratulations on taking a big step toward wellness, and I’m rooting for you!

When you call let them know you want to go to medical detox at the north campus. You may have to go to rapid access downtown some weekday morning. They may be able to get you into services over zoom.

If you want to stay on the methadone rbha also offers outpatient methadone. Program’s called recovery plus. Just call rapid access and they’ll figure out what the best fit is for you, but they offer everything; detox, inpatient, outpatient, subs or methadone. Good on you for taking the first step.

I had a terrible experience with them 2 years ago. Hopefully I can find something without having to resort there!

VCU’s clinic for substance use is called the Motivate Clinic, but I’m not sure they have inpatient facilities or just outpatient and can’t find that info on their site, so you may have to call and ask. I know they have a they have a lot of interdisciplinary stuff so you have people to work on the physical and mental health aspects (and even specifically women’s health) if that’s something you need. Im 95% sure they accept Medicaid, unless something changed recently.

I don’t personally know any others but there’s a website called FindTreatment.gov that’s for finding other facilities near you, specifically for substance abuse and mental health services. I can’t remember if they had a filter for in vs out patient but it may give you options of some places and hopefully their individual websites can provide you more info on insurance and treatment options.

Good luck, hope this helps!

Thank you. I was pregnant last year and on Subs. After I lost the baby I relapsed and I've basically been fighting this ever since. I was in the motivate clinic at that time, but I just did my medical appointments there and got my meds from them. I didn't know they had other services!

I went to the OB Motivate clinic when I was pregnant and on suboxone. Dr. Tyson and Dr. Martin are the most empathetic and knowledgeable medical professionals I've come across in addiction medicine. I'm really sorry to hear about what you've gone through. I'm three years off heroin myself - if you ever want to chat, please reach out!

Thank you bc I've called so many places and no one will accept it and I've been quoted prices from 8 grand to 24 grand! I don't have any family to help! My mom and my grandfather both died from addiction.

It’s really unfortunate how crazy and exploitive those places can be

Let me know how it goes. They are also pet friendly if you want to bring your pet. Best of luck in your recovery.
