Staples mill train Thursday mornings?

Does anyone take Amtrak from staples mill earliest train on Thursdays? I would prefer not to have to wake my daughter and husband off for such an early drop off, and would rather not leave my car there as I’m in northern va several days. I’d be happy to go half and half (or little more than half) if someone can give me a ride from my home near St. Mary’s area to the station. Let me know if this is the wrong forum for this kind of question!

What time is your train leaving?

Probably most flexible and reliable to schedule an Uber or taxi ahead of time. In the past I've scheduled Napoleon Taxi for early morning flights from RIC, and they've been prompt and reliable.

6:05. My husband can give me a ride if need be, as It would be recurring on some Thursdays. I’ve looked into Uber and taxis, but it’s $30-$40 for 3 1/2 mile ride. Just wondering if others make the commute and leave their cars during the day!

For one day, I'd leave my car. For multiple days aka overnight, I wouldn't leave my car there unless I absolutely had to.

Yeah, if it were just one day, I wouldn’t mind paying the $10. But when I go I generally stay to the four days.

Lyft is saying ~$18.00 for a scheduled 5:15am pickup near St. Mary's to the Amtrak station. If you don't schedule ahead, you might have to wait a little longer but it would be cheaper.

Good to know! I checked with Uber and they quoted $43. Henrico cab $28.

That really sounds high from Uber, I wonder why? The early hour or the scheduling? Only saying so because I occasionally take Ubers about 4-5 miles around the near west end after one too many drinks and it's never been more than like $16.

I think maybe the scheduling. I priced it for a Saturday morning at 6.
