hey y’all! my bf and i (both late 20s) are looking for more exciting date night ideas in/around the city. you can only go to movieland so many times, yknow? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Go see local music even if you don’t know the band. Follow restlessrva and Richmondalternative on instagram and just show up to something. The Camel, Fuzzy Cactus, Gallery 5 are all great venues.

I LOVE the Camel!!! They’ve had some of my favorite bands play there and their beer is reasonably priced!
This wouldn’t work until it warms up but grab a pizza from 8 1/2 and have a little picnic in Scuffletown park. In the summer there’s also live music on I think Tuesday evenings. Follow it up with some ice cream at Scoop.
This is one of the bests. Go shop for wine/beer/extra snacks at Strawberry St. Market while you wait for your pizza to be ready.
I went to Hotel Greene last night and had a blast. They offer a Thursday Date Night spesh. It costs $55 for two people & includes two plates, two drinks, and one round of mini golf per person. 🤙
Mise En Place offers cute date night cooking classes. Normally NOT our thing at all but ended up being so fun and great memories for us. 🥰

Full disclosure, it was pre-covid and I'm sure the group has shuffled around a bit, but it's also just the kind of vibe that draws creeper culture types.
I appreciate crude and perverted humor but I need to know the person first, when you make it your base and up front acceptable, it's harder to screen out which ones aren't joking.
Every 4th Friday there is a Jazz night at Gallery 5, we do drinks there then dinner somewhere close by after!
