Reddit is actually better than most for getting rid of echo chambers. There’s alt right stuff on this site make no mistake but it’s not blatantly everywhere like other platforms.

There are of course the arguments about there being left-leaning echo chambers, but then you have to ask how much of that is a "both sides" argument and how much is real. Keeping in mind the "facts have a liberal bias" comments.

Reddit is an echo-chamber too. "Echo-chamber" is a feedback loop, not just right-wing feedback loops. Are you not understanding this on purpose?

I think it’s cowardly that they vote you down instead of discussing with you.

I don’t think it’s that easy but you’re right in a way. I think reddit is a more obscure, has stronger and decentralized moderation and also is more democratic than other sm platforms. This attracts and keeps a more diverse and (imo) higher educated crowd.

It also does not encourage the loudest voice or the most „prominent“ as for example twitter does.

So yes, I think reddit is far better at keeping people in communication.

Sorry but do you have evidence of this? There are third parties who study this kind of thing and I don't think Reddit scored very high in the past

Oh yes, yes… it’s just the alt-right stuff that’s the problem on Reddit.
