No, misinformation is false or inaccurate information. That's it. Information that is deliberately intended to deceive is disinformation.

By all means go ahead and tell the Oxford English Dictionary that you know better than them when defining a word.

While you're at it, look up the word "especially" in the dictionary and reread the definition quoted in my post.

That's not the issue. The definition is just that. Yes, we know that bad info is bad info. The definition doesn't tell us what is misinfo. That's the question. Are you being purposefully obtuse?

Mate, you're debating semantics. I don't make up the words. People do. You got a problem with a word that is less than your standard of certainty? You got a big problem cuz that's most words. Language is not maths. Get over it and get wise.
