I know you said no fiction but...

Robopocalypse is a fun fiction book. It does explore possibilities for an Ai future.

Scifi in general, even though it's fiction, often explores future technologies and their possible implications long before they become a thing, and in a fun way.

But as far as non-fiction, I'd recommend Nick Bostrom's Superintelligence.

Stop reading so much.

Taking in information is step 1. to making a reality like the singularity happen. The truth is, we have to work to bring the things described in those philosophies to life.

You're on here, so you already have potential. Go out and build something that you think is important to making the singularity happen.

Why don't you try to read survey papers? They don't add anything new but they summarise a whole year or more of activity in a subfield and are pretty high-level overview.

For example, this one is nice: https://arxiv.org/pdf/2111.06091.pdf

I really like Life 3.0, I think it's still on youtube

https://www.audible.com/author/Jeremy-Rifkin/B000APENQ2 ,

I haven't heard - https://www.audible.com/author/Kai-Fu-Lee/B001K8QZ8C , but I've seen some speeches, and he seems to have a solid perspective.

four futures - peter frase,

& in the same vein - Manna by Marshall Brain (non-magic fiction) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RhLIk8Hy20&list=PLZcXL8KepLVsm5w_NnXI3hMvjPCBtl21P

and if you can read - https://marshallbrain.com/mars

I understand your point but the most successful people in the world actually say that they read many many more books than average people and audiobooks are awesome for taking advantage of dead time.
