Political and economic systems interact. A good political system promotes the success of its companion economic system, and vice versa.

To date, the combination of democracy and capitalism has been the most successful, leading to popular acceptance of the combination.

But, at this point, capitalism, the economic system, has taken control of the political system, democracy.

We either need a new system, or a major rebalancing of the existing one.
