If you examine biological animals in general, it’s obvious that the more advanced the intelligence in the brain, the more complex that animal’s emotional system gets. Therefore, it would make sense that a more advanced biological civilization with a more intelligent brain than ours would also have not more emotions but a more complex emotional system than ours. And, even if that civilization or “beings” were not biological, they would still understand the more complex system of emotions, even if they are not as dependent on it for their existence anymore.
