I think the bigger question is will they release it. Like they can show it all day long. But look at the Google grave yard. They are pretty famous for not letting things go to public and then out of no where killing it off.

Like I don't think they will kill it off. But IDK if they will bring it to the public.

Yep, this is where I'm at. They showed their AI scheduling a haircut ages ago, but Google Assistant is still extremely dumb compared to Chat GPT

Until they put something I can use in my hand, they are a vaporware company on the way to go down in history next to all the other huge names that didn't adapt to change

If their tech is around as good as ChatGPT, I understand their apprehension. ChatGPT reaches the level being just good enough to be dangerous. And Google is already dealing with an abundance of regulatory scrutiny. An AI that can easily instruct you on doing criminal activity, or confidently spits out misinformation as fact was likely a can of worms they'd rather kick down the road.

People really do want to use this technology though, so their hand is being forced.
